I don’t understand this reassessment request either. I suggest contacting Alberta Aids for Daily Living and see what they say. A radical cystectomy surgery is permanent. He will be needing bags for the rest of his life so the only change that could happen is maybe he would need a different type, brand or size of bag if his stoma changes size or shape or if he experiences difficulties with a particular product. If that doesn’t work, I also suggest reaching out to his ostomy nurse or Bladder Cancer Canada to see if they have any information.
The rules for bag coverage varies from province to province.
I’m a bladder cancer survivor but did not have my bladder removed so I’m not familiar with the coverage available in Alberta.
