Group Of People Talking Clipart
As mentioned in an earlier blog post, the Family Presence Campaign Presence Campaign has begun.  This week, the campaign comes to Calgary, where two Family Presence coffee chats have been planned.  The first one will be held on Wednesday, January 20th at 9:00 a.m., and the second one will occur on Saturday, January 23rd at 10:30 a.m.  Brentwood Starbucks in Brentwood Village Mall will be the location for both gatherings.  (This Starbucks is located at 301 – 3630 Brentwood Rd. N.W, across the parking lot from the Bank of Montreal.)

If you are interested in learning about the Family Presence Campaign and how you can get involved, why not join us for a chat over coffee?

Volunteers Needed

Did you know that people who do charity work and volunteer in other ways may be benefiting in terms of better health?  In a recent study, it was found that volunteers were 30% more likely to receive flu shots,  47% more likely to receive cholesterol tests, and  spent 38% fewer nights in the hospital.  http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0277953615302495

If you are looking to do more volunteer work this year, live near the Peter Lougheed Centre in Calgary, enjoy meeting new people and assisting them as they navigate their way through a hospital setting, you may be interested in becoming a Wayfinding Ambassador.  Other volunteer opportunities at PLC are also available here.
